Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, exactly which ones talvena.world uses, how long each one lasts, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie Settings panel available in our banner and site footer.

Last updated: 5 June 2026. Issued by Talvena Wellness Ltd, Company No. 14692038, 33 High Street, Bristol, BS1 2AW.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy covers all cookies and similar storage technologies, such as local storage, used on talvena.world across every page of the site, including the homepage order form, the ingredients and delivery pages, and every legal page you are reading now. It applies to every visitor regardless of the device or browser used to access the site, and it should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains in more detail how any personal data collected through cookies is processed. This document does not cover cookies set by external websites you may reach through outbound links, such as Companies House or the Information Commissioner's Office, each of which maintains its own cookie notice. Where we refer to "we" or "us", we mean Talvena Wellness Ltd, the operator of talvena.world and the data controller responsible for cookie use on this site.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, tablet or mobile device when you visit it, allowing the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits or to remember choices you have made. Cookies cannot access other files on your device, cannot run programmes, and cannot be used to install viruses, but they can be used to build a profile of your browsing activity if you allow it. Some cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser, known as session cookies, while others remain on your device for a fixed period, known as persistent cookies, until they expire or you delete them manually. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage to remember interface preferences, which function in a broadly similar way to persistent cookies for the purposes of this policy.

3. Legal basis for using cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functioning website, and under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended, consent is not required for cookies that are essential to a service you have specifically requested, such as remembering the state of your order form. Analytics and marketing cookies are non-essential and are therefore only set with your prior, informed consent, which you give or refuse using the cookie banner shown on your first visit or at any time thereafter through the Cookie Settings panel. You may withdraw consent at any time with the same ease with which it was given, and doing so will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. If you reject non-essential cookies, only the strictly necessary cookies described below will be set, and the site will continue to function normally.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the core functions of talvena.world and cannot be switched off in our systems, though you can block them through your own browser settings at the risk of parts of the site not working correctly. These cookies do not store any directly identifying information and are not used for advertising purposes of any kind. The table below sets out the strictly necessary cookies currently active on the site, including their exact names and how long each one is retained on your device.

Cookie namePurposeLifespan
talvena_sessionMaintains the state of the order form and prevents duplicate submissions while you browse.Session (deleted when browser closes)
talvena_consentRecords your cookie banner choices so we do not ask again on every visit.12 months
talvena_csrfProtects the order form against cross-site request forgery attempts.Session (deleted when browser closes)

5. Analytics cookies

If you accept analytics cookies through our consent banner, we use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Limited, to understand in aggregate how visitors find and use talvena.world, including which pages are viewed most often and how visitors move between them. This information helps us decide which pages need improvement and does not involve identifying you personally, since Google Analytics reports are presented to us in aggregated and anonymised form. The specific cookies set, their purpose, and their lifespan are listed in the table below, and none of them will be set unless you have given consent through the banner or the Cookie Settings panel.

Cookie nameProviderPurposeLifespan
_gaGoogle Analytics 4Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated identifier.13 months
_ga_<container-id>Google Analytics 4Persists session state and campaign data for reporting purposes.13 months
_gidGoogle Analytics 4Distinguishes users for the purpose of daily traffic reporting.24 hours

6. Marketing and preference cookies

Marketing cookies, sometimes called advertising cookies, are used to show relevant adverts to visitors on other platforms and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. At the time of this update, talvena.world does not run any paid advertising campaigns and no marketing cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts are active on the site. The marketing toggle in our Cookie Settings panel is nonetheless provided for transparency and future readiness, so that visitors always have granular control over this category. If we introduce marketing cookies in future, for example a conversion-tracking pixel for a social media platform, we will update this policy in advance with the exact cookie names, providers, and lifespans, and consent will be requested afresh before any such cookie is set.

7. Preference cookies and local storage

Beyond the categories above, talvena.world uses browser local storage to remember minor interface preferences, such as whether you have already dismissed a particular on-site notice, so that we do not repeat the same message unnecessarily during a single browsing session. This storage does not contain personal data capable of identifying you and is not shared with any third party. It typically persists until you clear your browser's site data manually, since local storage does not expire automatically in the same way a cookie with a fixed lifespan does. You can clear this storage at any time through your browser's privacy or site settings.

8. Data collected via cookies and retention

The data collected through strictly necessary cookies is limited to session identifiers and consent flags and is retained only for as long as described in the tables above, after which it is automatically deleted by your browser or overwritten on your next visit. Analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained within Google's platform for 14 months from collection, in line with our configured data retention setting, after which individual-level event data is automatically deleted, though aggregated reports may be retained for longer for historical comparison. We do not combine cookie-derived analytics data with the personal data you provide through the order form, and the two data sets are held separately for different purposes. Cookie consent records themselves, stored in the talvena_consent cookie, are retained for 12 months to match the validity period of your consent.

9. Managing your cookie preferences

You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or open the Cookie Settings panel to make a granular choice by category at any time, using the buttons available in the cookie banner shown on your first visit and the "Cookie Settings" link permanently available in the footer of every page. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies through their own settings menus, and you can find instructions for common browsers on the browser manufacturer's support pages. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser, rather than through our own controls, may prevent the order form and other core features of the site from working correctly. If you use multiple devices or browsers to visit talvena.world, you will need to set your cookie preferences separately on each one, since consent choices are stored locally on the device and browser used.

10. Your rights

Where cookies involve the processing of personal data, such as an analytics identifier, you have the same rights described in our Privacy Policy, including the right to access, correct, or request erasure of that data, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, simply by returning to the Cookie Settings panel and adjusting your preferences. Where you have concerns about how cookie-derived data is used, you can contact us using the details in section 12 below, and you retain the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are not satisfied with our response.

11. Third-party processors and international transfers

Analytics cookies are provided by Google Ireland Limited, part of the Google group of companies, which may involve data being processed on servers located outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where such a transfer occurs, Google relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent recognised safeguard, to ensure your data continues to receive an appropriate level of protection. We periodically review the safeguards in place for each cookie-related processor we use and will update this policy if the arrangement changes materially. No cookie data is transferred to any processor other than those named in this policy without a corresponding update being published here first.

12. Complaints and contact

If you have any question about the cookies used on talvena.world or wish to raise a concern, please email [email protected] or telephone +44 117 289 4607 during our office hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:30, and we will aim to respond within 5 working days. You can also write to Talvena Wellness Ltd, 33 High Street, Bristol, BS1 2AW, quoting "Cookie Policy Enquiry" in your correspondence. If you remain dissatisfied after contacting us, you have the right to raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113, or online at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

13. Revision history

We review this Cookie Policy whenever we change the cookies deployed on talvena.world or when guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office is updated, and we record substantive changes in the table below so that returning visitors can see what has changed since their last visit. Minor wording clarifications that do not affect the substance of the policy may not always be individually logged. We recommend checking this page occasionally, particularly before accepting cookies again after a long absence from the site.
