Quiet routines. Careful sourcing.
Talvena is a small, Bristol-based company that formulates and sells a single, considered food supplement rather than a wide catalogue of products. This page sets out who we are, how we approach formulation and sourcing, how our pay-on-delivery model works, and how to reach us if you have questions beyond what is covered here.

1. Who we are
Talvena Wellness Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, trading from a registered office at 33 High Street, Bristol, BS1 2AW. We were established with a narrow focus: rather than building a broad range of supplements, we chose to develop one seasonal immune-support formula, Elderberry Zinc, and to concentrate our attention on getting that single product right — from ingredient sourcing through to how it is delivered to your door.
2. Our background
Talvena was founded by a small team with experience in food supplements, nutrition and direct-to-consumer retail, rather than by clinicians or medical professionals. We are not a medical company and we do not present ourselves as one anywhere on this website; Elderberry Zinc is a food supplement, and we work within that category deliberately and consistently. Our team's experience lies in identifying well-established, well-documented nutrients, sourcing them from reputable suppliers, and packaging that information clearly for customers, rather than in inventing novel or unproven ingredients.
3. Why we chose a single-product model
Many supplement retailers sell dozens of products, each competing for a customer's attention. We took the opposite approach. By concentrating entirely on Elderberry Zinc, we can be specific about sourcing, transparent about dosage, and consistent about how the product is described across every page of this website, rather than repeating a generic template across many different items. We believe this makes it easier for a customer to actually understand what they are buying, which matters more to us than growing a wide catalogue.
- One formula means one dosage table to maintain accurately, rather than dozens.
- One formula means our customer service team can answer detailed questions confidently, without needing to look up a different product each time.
- One formula means any change to sourcing or manufacturing is reflected across the whole website immediately, not lost among many product pages.
4. How we selected the formula
The five ingredients in Elderberry Zinc — elderberry extract, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D3 and selenium — were chosen because each has an established, well-documented role in general nutrition, and several are the subject of specific nutrient function claims authorised under retained EU Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, which we quote accurately on our Ingredients page. We did not set out to create the largest possible ingredient list; we set out to create a focused, seasonal formula built around nutrients commonly associated with a general immune-support routine, at doses we consider reasonable rather than excessive.
5. Manufacturing and quality

| Area | Our approach |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing location | United Kingdom, at a contract facility operating to recognised food safety standards |
| Batch tracking | Every pack carries a batch code and best-before date |
| Raw material checks | Supplier specifications verified before use in production |
| Finished product checks | Quality checks completed before batches are released for sale |
| Capsule shell | HPMC (plant-derived), suitable for vegetarians |
We do not operate our own manufacturing facility; Talvena is the formulator, brand owner and retailer, working with UK-based contract manufacturers who specialise in food supplement production.
6. Why we sell on a pay-on-delivery basis
We chose a pay-on-delivery model, rather than requiring online card payment at the point of order, because it gives customers a simple way to confirm they actually want the product — over a short phone call — before any money changes hands. It also means we speak to nearly every customer directly at least once, which gives our team a chance to answer questions about the ingredients, delivery timing, or storage before the pack even leaves our supplier's warehouse. There is no subscription attached to this model: each order is a single, standalone purchase.
"We wanted people to be genuinely sure about their order before it was dispatched, not locked into a card payment made in a hurry. A phone call does that far better than a checkout page." — a reflection shared by a member of our founding team on why the business was set up this way.
7. Where we deliver
We currently deliver across the whole of the United Kingdom, from London and the South East through to the Highlands and Islands, with delivery times and costs varying by region as set out in full on our Delivery page. We do not currently ship outside the United Kingdom, and we do not currently offer international payment methods, since our pay-on-delivery model is built around UK courier networks specifically.
8. How we handle customer data
As a company built on direct phone contact with customers, we take the handling of personal data seriously. We collect only what is needed to process, confirm and deliver an order, we name our data processors explicitly, and we describe retention periods and your rights in detail in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell customer data to third-party marketing companies, and we do not use dark patterns to obtain marketing consent.
9. Our commitment to plain language
Throughout this website, we have tried to avoid vague marketing language in favour of specific, checkable facts: exact milligram amounts, exact percentage NRV figures, exact delivery windows by region, and exact wording for any nutrient claim, taken directly from the list authorised under retained EU Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006. Where a claim is not authorised — for example, for botanical extracts like elderberry — we describe the ingredient factually rather than attaching an invented health claim to it. We would rather a page felt slightly more technical than usual than have it make a promise we cannot stand behind.
